Janssen Inc. is currently recruiting for a 4 month Strategic Pricing Associate Intern within the Government Affairs and Market Access (ACCESS) department. Start date is May 2014.
The ACCESS team is focused on two key responsibilities: working in close partnership with public and private payers to provide them with appropriate clinical data, pricing and partnership opportunities to support drug funding and patient access; and, data generation through clinical and health economic studies, to facilitate medication access through payers and adoption by prescribers.

Responsibilities
Support the development and approval of price increase strategies for each brand within the Janssen and Patriot portfolios. This includes attending cross-functional meetings with internal customers from Market Access, Marketing, Finance, and supporting impact assessments.
Assist in the preparation of the mid-year sales (Block 4) and international benchmark (Block 5) reporting to the Patented Medicine Prices Review Board (PMPRB)
Develop tools and models that will enhance self-monitoring capabilities on an ongoing basis in preparation for the elimination of the mid-year reporting requirement
Assist the Pricing Manager in the ongoing development and maintenance of internal tools and processes for the strategic pricing discussions, price increase/change process, and partnering with Finance, Marketing, and Trade Relations.
Attend team, departmental and company-wide meetings.
Qualifications
Student in good standing, currently enrolled as a graduate student in an MBA program, preferable with a background in Pharmacy or Health Sciences;
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work tasks in a fast-paced environment;
Strong verbal and written business communication skills and superior attention to accuracy and detail;
Ability to problem solve and apply critical thinking;
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, dynamic environment as well as ability to work independently;
Proficiency in technological applications including MS Office, advanced functions within MS Excel, and PowerPoint
