The Global Business Transformation and Strategy (BT&S) team is an internal division within the Global Corporate Services (GCS) business unit of American Express. The team consists of approximately 30 professionals whose role is to optimize the existing business and devise strategies that will ensure success in the long run. BT&S is part of the Global Performance Group that reports directly into the President of Global Corporate Payments. The BT&S team has 3 core, global functions: Business Transformation, Strategy and Competitive Intelligence. We are a global team with members in New York, London, Sydney, Mexico and Canada.

This high visibility role will report to the Director of Business Tranformation, Europe. The incumbent will be responsible for driving incremental PTI benefits by leading new business projects across Europe for the Global Commercial Payments business (GCP) that transform the business, and enhance the contribution margins. The incumbent will work with the Europe GCP team business leaders and support teams directly to drive these projects. The manager will own initiatives that cover multiple GCP Europe markets. They will provide strategic and project leadership to cross functional teams and effectively utilize project management techniques to organize, plan and execute transformational and/or revenue acceleration, expense reduction or process improvement initiatives while meeting or exceeding timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

· Drive an ambitious business change agenda working with the Europe GCP Leadership Team to identify actions that can deliver sustainable improvements in revenues, business processes, and margins

· Develop strategies for improving revenue and margins and overall business performance based on internal and external analysis

· Partner to challenge the status quo to successfully scope, size and drive implementation of identified BT opportunities

· Identify, innovate, and execute transformational new business development opportunities. Effectively employ financial, project management and six sigma approaches and resources to organize, plan and execute initiatives while meeting or exceeding timelines

· Provide consultative advice and support to drive change management initiatives and associated communication programs.

· Collaborate with Central teams to prioritize and execute regional and global BT initiatives

· Deliver against aggressive in-year targets to contribute to P&L outcomes.

Qualifications
- Ability to build relationships with senior leaders, finance World Service teams that lead and support the GCP business.
- Ability to scope new project ideas, successfully develop and execute growth strategies.
- Outstanding written, oral and presentation skills.
- Outstanding project/process management and prioritization skills.
- Proven ability to drive change - analyze a wide variety of situations, identifying critical issues, and develop innovative solutions and creative approaches to problem solving.
- Exhibits personal determination and commitment to achieve required outcome.
- Strong sense of teamwork and commitment to joint accountability and the success of peers.
- Demonstrated leadership and relationship skills, including the ability to influence positive outcomes and develop strong partnership/relationship with key business units across all levels of the organization.
- Broad knowledge of AXP business models overall.

- Strong financial acumen, knowledge of the GCP business model and P&L.
