Description
Sandvine is looking for the right person to provide technical leadership for our best-of-breed billing solutions within our Usage Management product family. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about solving hard problems and who will drive our products in innovative directions; all while motivating the team to greatness. As a Technical Lead within Sandvine, you will provide vision and direction to the team from the front-lines of development. Throughout the product development life-cycle, you will be responsible for driving quality results in our requirements, design, implementation and delivery processes. You will embrace and encourage best practices that enable the team to deliver quality software on time and act as a model for continuous improvement. This is a multi-faceted role that requires frequent interaction with the Product Manager, Project Lead, Architect, QA and Software Engineering teams; and as such requires strong personal and communication skills. Your technical expertise will support the project for many aspects: from code reviews to brainstorming QA strategies to providing guidance on customer documentation & training content. You will become a pivotal influence on the direction of our product roadmap, working directly with the Architect and Product Manager to help research and prioritize new initiatives.   Role & Responsibilities: Responsible for team’s quality, on-time results throughout product development life-cycle (requirements, design, implementation, delivery) Provide technical leadership to Software Engineering team following Sandvine’s development best practices Deliver innovative designs to challenging problems while collaborating with Software Engineers and Architects Able to drive the team to deliver on commitments under the constraints of the project plan Support and maintain existing billing products Research on the applicable standards, industry practices, and existing Sandvine products to design the product with standard-based external interfaces Strong communication and inter-personal skills Manage the technical contributions of a group of 4-8 engineers   Personal Characteristics: Enjoy solving complex, system level problems Willing to learn a variety of network protocols, learning from specification documents and RFCs A genuine interest in code quality and demonstrating code ownership   Qualifications: 7+ years experience Experience in developing products in Wireless Core Switching or Radio Access Network with exposure to 3GPP standards Experience in working with one or more network access gateways such as BRAS, GGSN, PDSN, ASN Gateway, CMTS Good knowledge on Networking protocols like RADIUS, Diameter, LDAP, GTP, GRE, MPLS, etc. will be an advantage Programming knowledge (C/C++/Java required; scripting experience such as Python or Tcl will be an advantage) Experience in working on a Unix based system    We thank all applicants, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
