  Job Purpose: Under the general supervision of the Process Automation Services Manager, this position is responsible for providing project and demand based service engagements of process control related products sold by Lakeside Process Controls Ltd. in their assigned territory.
Primary Responsibilities
  • On-site services with Lakeside Process Controls customers in the Thunder Bay / North Shore area.
  • As part of a modernization FEED, customer legacy control system audit and documentation – including field I/O, control system and control strategy
  • Define and prepare electrical design requirements.  Working with the hardware design team to generate electrical design packages that include equipment drawings, power and heating calculations, interconnect / hookup requirements, loop drawings and cable schedules.
  • Construction and installation support and supervision for instrumentation and controls related scope
  • Controls system implementation and configuration (I/O, Control Logic and Process Graphic development) primarily with DeltaV.  Integration and modification to existing PLC’s required
  • Commissioning and process start-up support.  Includes loop checkout, loop tuning and troubleshooting
  • Development and maintenance of site project documentation
  • Provide customized training for plant engineering, maintenance and operations
  • Provide telephone consultation on process automation problems;
  • Follow through with customer maintenance contract work;
  • Provide troubleshooting expertise to resolve process automation problems;
  • Maintain sound working relationships with customer's personnel in various functional departments, such as:  engineering, purchasing and maintenance;
  • Help maintain and follow ISO procedures;
  • Maintenance of Lakeside support infrastructure including software/hardware installation and new equipment set-up;
  • Provide a premier level of customer service;
  • Handle all customer complaints immediately including participation in 24 hours emergency support
  • Promote a team approach within Lakeside Process Controls Ltd.;
Education:
  • Engineering Diploma or Technologist Certificate
Experience:
  • Five to ten (5 – 10) years of prior experience pertaining to the service, maintenance and configuration of automation solutions in process industries.
Skills/Competencies:
  • Experience and proficient knowledge of field instrumentation, programmable logic controllers and process automation systems
  • Experience in an industrial construction environment
  • Proficient in computer operating systems and programming languages (Windows 7, Server 2003/2008, Visual Basic) including exposure to operating system installation and upgrades
  • Experience with industrial networking including wireless infrastructure
  • Training & presentation skills
  • Project management skills
