This position reports directly to the Reservoir Engineering Manager and works with other technical reporting personnel, sales representatives, and regulatory agencies to accomplish these goals. Some of the well testing activities include the execution and analysis of Flow and Build-up tests, AWS Static Pressure Tests, Flow and Clean-ups tests, Interference tests, DIFIT tests and other regulatory testing requirements.
This position is responsible for meeting the client’s needs for pressure transient analysis and technical reporting within GE.
• Prepare pressure transient analysis for downhole gauges, AWS and surface gauges. Obtain and analyze well test data from a large variety of complex reservoirs, including over-pressured zones, natural and induced fractures, tight gas, compartmentalization and other reservoir heterogeneities
• Be able to handle specific issues related to well testing, including wellbore issues, different types of wellbore stimulation, stakeholder issues, environmental issues, sour wells, extreme temperature and depth, regulatory issues and accessibility/land issues.
• Help with AWS problems and issues when required by technical reporting team.
• Prepare cost estimates as requested by clients
• Discuss well optimization options with clients and when required prepare appropriate programs to achieve desired results.
• Provide well optimization expertise to clients when required.
• When required communicate with the client to provide project planning and management.
• Present results in a clear and precise format to the client.
• Identify appropriate technical reporting goals and objectives to fall in line with corporate objectives.
• Provide mentoring to junior staff as required.
• Strong commitment to GE safe work procedures
• Strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication with both field and office staff.
• Engineering degree or diploma and/or a minimum of 7 years’ experience including a good knowledge of well test analysis, field operations, regulatory issues, environmental issues and HSE & SD as they relate to well optimization activities.
• A strong analytical background on complex well test analysis.
• Must be able to work independently and poses the ability and desire to take on multi disciplinary tasks.
• An excellent team player and works well in a team environment.
• Strong PC skills (Word, Excel)
• Proficiency in analysis Fekete Well Test software
