| Financial Analyst role will report to the Finance Manager and will be responsible for driving detailed analysis for planning cycles and analyzing results. The role will be an integral part of the Finance team supporting Operational teams engaged in a complex Oil & Gas manufacturing operation located in Edmonton. | |
| 1. Financial Planning & Analysis:
* Perform detailed analysis and analytics to develop bottoms-up estimates for operating plans, forecasts, reviews, etc. * Prepare comprehensive analysis of revenues and contribution margins by deals and by product/service offering * Drive aspects of the ongoing estimate process, such as weekly pacing, and develop continuous variance analysis on key business metrics to understand trends, risks, opportunities and variances to targets * Help finance team members prepare for business operating rhythm including performance metrics and financial and non-financial reports * Drive profit optimization through detailed review of costs * Prepare analysis to support business decisions and to evaluate business results * Understand key processes and transactions and ensure costs and revenues are being booked in the proper Accounts and Profit/Cost Centers 2. Closing & Reporting: * Interface and partner with Global Operations Finance team to ensure closing and reporting is accurate and timely * Prepare and/or review journal entries * Respond to inquiries from other team members and HQ team on close related items * Coordinate the month end closing processes by tracking status of team deliverables against deadlines * Prepare and/or review account reconciliations 3. Other: * Prepare balance sheet analysis for key accounts and ensure appropriate backup is maintained * Cash flow forecasting and monitoring of accounts receivable collection/aging, as well as manage the bad debts process * Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures with respect to financial reporting, consolidation and consistency across GE Oil & Gas * Perform internal audits and ensure controllership and consistency of accounting process across the operations * Develop and implement simplification | |
| *Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration
