The Manager of Business Development will be responsible for the generation of new sales in the Middle Market - Travel Management Account Services - Telesales segment with a focus on prospects with an annual air volume of less than $500,000. This is an individual contributor role. The ideal candidate must have knowledge in technology solutions, a strong industry reputation, and have the ability to sell client specific based solutions. The candidate will be responsible for providing integrated solutions both online and offline to help corporations manage and optimize their travel spend and investment. This is accomplished through process and purchase savings. Also, the individual will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. The capability to demonstrate the ability to develop and engage at the Sr. Level Client contacts is a critical requirement. The role entails working and contributing to the internal team.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to strategically manage a pipeline and effectively sell our products and services, provide prospects with deep insight and a diverse perspective in the travel space. This position is part of the Global Business Travel division of American Express, Middle Market - Travel Management Account Services. This team provides sales expertise to travel prospects via the telephone. The Manager of Business Development will manage their pipeline via telephone and therefore must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Will work with internal and external partners and collaborate around driving two-way leads.

* Successful B2B Sales Experience
* Pipeline Management
* CRM experience
* Ability to interface with senior levels of a company, including creating and delivering presentations
* Strong closing experience with C-Suite
* Articulate, inspiring and confident via the telephone
* Cold calling experience and prospecting required
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Strong negotiation skills with the ability to effectively overcome objections
* Ability to use PowerPoint and LiveMeeting
* Self-starter and able to succeed in a virtual work environment a plus
* Financial acumen and previous experience working with financial statements
* Clear demonstration of driving results
* Excellent project and time management skills
* BA/BS
* Candidate will preferably reside in the Toronto area
