The following STUDENT positions are a part of IBM Canada's EPIC (Employment Pathways to Interns & Co-ops) Student Program. These positions are only open to students registered in a Canadian University or College program, who have completed a minimum of 2 years of their degree or diploma program, and who MUST be returning to full-time study upon the completion of the temporary IBM work term.


  • This Student Position resides in Markham and is a 16 MONTH work term


  • JOB TITLE: Business Process Management (BPM): Java / Web 2.0 Software Developer – 16 month (Markham)

    Main Responsibilities include:

    BPM is a discipline that leverages software and services to provide total visibility into an organization. Discover, document, automate, and continuously improve business processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs. IBM Toronto Lab is a key lab that develops BPM software, based on service oriented architecture (SOA) and industry standards like WSDL and XML. IBM BPM software is changing the way how organizations run their business.

    We are looking for senior university students with a strong technical background and interested in Software Development to work on the next generation of Business Process Modeling, Design and Integration tools.

    The successful candidate will have a good background in Java and/or web technologies and will be responsible for the design, development and testing of components within our industry-leading Business Process Management tools suite.


    Qualification:


    • 3rd or 4th year in a University degree program in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
    • Practical experience programming in the Java
    • Practical experience programming with Javascript, HTML, CSS and Web 2.0.
    • Strong passion for technology and software
    • Ability to work in a high energy environment and exhibit creative thinking and collaboration.

    • Self confident
    • Solid communicator, both written and verbal
    • Familiar with the Software Development Life Cycle
    • Positive attitude and willingness to focus on goals and timelines
