DSS IT Specialist (Supplemental) A challenging opportunity exists within the Development Support Services (DSS) team at the Toronto location of the IBM Canada Lab for an IT Specialist providing support for Linux & AIX operating systems on POWER & Intel servers, as well as storage & network devices. DSS provides development and test server support to the Information Management (IM) brand and manages approximately 2000 servers across a wide variety of platforms and configurations including pre-release systems. In this dynamic role, you will participate in all aspects of systems management, including operating system installs and upgrades; hardware installations and maintenance; server room management; networking; performance tuning; documentation creation; after-hour pager support; general trouble-shooting; security administration, as well as involvement in new support offerings and project work. This position should appeal to those candidates that like to work in a variety of areas; enjoy a fast-paced environment; like to continually build skill levels; enjoy interacting regularly with others including team members, peers, customers and support contacts, all within in a variety of work environments including traditional desk, server room, and after hours on-call support from home.
