The following student position is a part of IBM Canada's EPIC (Employment Pathways to Interns & Co-ops) Student Program. This position is only open to students registered in a Canadian University or College program, who have completed a minimum of 2 years of their degree or diploma program, and who must be returning to full-time study upon the completion of the temporary IBM work term. Main Responsibilities include: The position would allow a successful student to work as part of the Ottawa Jazz team. Jazz is the foundation for Rational Team Concert designed to make software delivery teams more effective. There are multiple positions available ranging from reporting and source control to functional verification testing. The nominee will be exposed to some of the following in an informal but leading edge software team environment: • Eclipse • Java • Javascript • Dojo • JUnit • XML Co-ops will also gain valuable experience in an open agile development process. Qualification: A successful candidate would need to be enthusiastic, have appropriate knowledge of the above technologies or be capable of quickly mastering these technologies with guidance. Furthermore, they will be able to work as part of a team and be able to independently solve a well-outlined problem. Technologies the candidate will be exposed to can have a long learning curve; handling well-meaning critique is essential.
