The Tax Manager will be responsible for providing quality income tax compliance services (Canadian and U.S. tax) to assigned portfolio of GE Canada and GE Capital in Canada businesses.
  • Generating measurable tax savings and process improvements.
  • Identification and resolution of tax “controllership” issues affecting assigned portfolio.
  • Initiate and develop extensive interactions with business financial and operating personnel and develop detailed knowledge of GE financial systems and data flows.
  • Effectively respond to internal and external audit requests (Canadian and US).
  • Participate in tax planning (including M&A, internal reorganizations, LE simplification and tax advice activities).
  • University Degree in Commerce or Business
  • Professional Accreditation (CGA, CA, CPA)
  • Complete CICA In-Depth Tax Course
  • Minimum 10 years corporate tax experience (both public practice and industry)
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Exposure to cross border tax issues and/or U.S. tax
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high level of expertise and productivity in challenging, high workload environment
  • Adaptable: open to change in response to new information, different, unexpected or ambiguous circumstances
  • Integrity: accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, professional and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others
