At Janssen we are one team, working closely with patients and patient associations to improve the lives of patients every day. We provide support and information, and foster initiatives for patients and caregivers to improve their health outcomes while partnering with their healthcare team. By working in partnership with stakeholders, we strive to ensure the right treatment information is delivered to the right patients at the right time with the right support. This will help achieve the best possible outcome for all.
Role Summary:
The Community Relations intern is responsible to assist the team with a wide range of projects.
They will conduct primary research on patient organizations to help identify potential contacts with key community groups as well as produce an evaluation system of these potential groups.
Coordinate the development of materials and presentations to be used for education programs delivered by the CR Managers.
Help with the development and dissemination plan of key Community Relations metrics to the broader audience within Janssen.
Help with the production and distribution of the CONNECT news letter produce by the Community Relations team and distributed to our external patient groups. Also help maintain the distribution data base and assessment of this program.
Conduct social medial scan of new advocacy platform and campaigns with a view to inform the CR team activities in the future
Conduct research on patient health policy initiatives in Canada and around the world to establish best practices.
Administrative duties to support research, committee and external event activities.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Currently completing a post-secondary degree or post-grad certificate in political science, communications, or business.
Strong sense of community and working with the consumer
Experience in project management. Well developed organizational skills.
High level of computer software proficiency: MS Office – all applications including PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
High level of initiative, well developed sense of urgency and self confidence. Ability to work well independently.
Detail orientated (proof reading, formatting etc)
High level of professionalism, sound judgment and ability to work with confidential information
