In 2010 there were 10 billion fixed and mobile connections to the internet. By 2020, there will be 50 billion connections to the internet, whereby anything that can benefit from an internet connection will be connected (i.e. Networked Society). Broadband Service providers are now requiring services like IPTV, Video on Demand, Video Conferencing, Virtual Private Networks, Broadband Aggregation, Wi-Fi solutions, Multimedia Networks, and Edge Routing as part of their product offering.
The networks of today, simply put, are not ready for this tidal wave.
Over the last 3+ years Ericsson has invested billions of dollars to move from the #1 position in Wireless Infrastructure to take claim as the #1 in end-to-end Converged Infrastructure. There are not many players that have end-to-end capability. There are a whole host of challenges you face when creating a single, fully converged, infrastructure that handles everything.
Ericsson’s SmartEdge Multi-Service Edge Routers and SSR 8000 family of Smart Services Routers are, and will continue to be at the heart of the converged infrastructure handling the new challenges for years to come.
Team Description:
As part of the Ericsson's IP OS Functional Infrastructure Test team, you will be responsible for testing and verifying the core control and forwarding plane infrastructure components in Ericsson's IP Operating System. IPOS is the core software for Ericsson's IP routing and services platforms. Our software products are deployed globally on Ericsson's SmartEdge (SE) and Smart Services Router (SSR).

Responsibilities:
- Design, execute, and automate tests focused on control and forwarding plane Infrastructure
- Interact with product management, software/hardware development team, and other test teams to understand customer/product requirements
- Develop test plans and test strategies to ensure that the new features/products meet specifications.
- Work closely with developers to reproduce, analyze, and debug internal bugs found during feature testing as well as customer issues found in the field.
- Participate in defect analysis, defect slip and root cause evaluation, study the customer / product functionality impact, suggest work around methods for the observed defect.
The Ideal Candidate
- 5+ years of development test experience on a routing/switching platform.
- Experience in testing : IPv4, IPv6, L2/L3 protocols (OSPF, ISIS, bridging, lacp, mpls, etc), QoS, BRAS, SNMP
- Experience in working with various test tools (traffic generators), RADIUS servers
- MUST HAVE Strong scripting skills in PERL
- Solid work ethic, customer focus, team player, with passion for delivering world class solutions
- Good knowledge of Routers and Switches.
- BS Degree in CS/EE or related studies
