Animas Canada, a division of LifeScan Canada Ltd and a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Clinical Manager who is responsible for training patients and Healthcare Professionals in Central, Eastern and periodically, Northern Ontario

Job Summary:

Provide follow-up to insulin pump patients as outlined in policy, and as needed, as specified by a Diabetes Nurse Educator, or Endocrinologist. Can help create, or coordinate patient diabetes education programs for Diabetes Nurse Educators. This includes but is not limited to; diabetes self-management skills, proper use of blood glucose monitoring equipment, carbohydrate counting instruction, insulin action, emergency management, and community resources. Collaborate and work, with Territory Sales Manager to assure the territory goals are met. Also will participate in CME’s and community events.

The primary Job Responsibilities include:

Clinical:

Document all discussions with patients and plan for blood glucose management.

Establish relationships with clinicians in the territory.

Provide follow-up to insulin pump patients as outlined in policy and as needed. Communicate with clinicians in territory regarding patient discharge, issues related to training or blood glucose management, and clinician preference with training and management.

Participate in CME's and community events.

Policies and Procedures:

Utilize patient Minimum Call Follow-up policy to document follow-up calls for all patients trained on the Animas insulin pump in the territory.

Send paperwork to corporate to Clinical Administrative Assistants at least monthly.

Review and adhere to all policy and procedures.

Territory Collaboration:

Develop and establish relationships with clinicians in territory.

Provide updates and education to clinicians in territory on new and existing products.

Provide education programs per year to clinicians or patients within the territory (with the Territory Manager).

Assure that certified pump trainers and per diems are adequately trained on products and provide appropriate education.

Work with Territory Manager to assess needs of territory and provide support.

Work in physicians in offices as indicated to provide diabetes education.

Innovation

Participate on monthly clinical calls and meetings.

Contribute new ideas for education or materials.

As requested, participate and contribute to clinical projects.

Maintain professional licensure.

Other important considerations:

Due to our direct-to-patient model, the job requires extensive travel by plane and car.

Typical workday will include working with health care professionals during the day and/or performing consumer presentations in the evening.

Most consumer presentations are performed at the potential pump user's home.

Qualifications


This position requires the following education, experience & demonstrated competencies:

University degree is required with preference given to LifeSciences or Business

Successful completion of Registered Nurse, Registered Dietician, or Certified Diabetes Educator license required.

Ability to accommodate approximately 40% overnight travel is required.

Passion and commitment to the diabetes category.

The ability to display empathy for the consumer combined with a competitive drive and determination to do what it takes - "leave no stone unturned" to exceed the consumer's needs and expectations.

Ability to work in a complex ambiguous environment where systems and processes are still in development.

Possess a highly innovative with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Excellent organizational skills is required.

Proven history of safe driving is required.

Bilingual in both English and French is considered an asset.
