Vega has a current opening for an Account Manager. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Account Manager focuses on building relationships with and providing exceptional customer service to retailers and consumers. This position will have close interaction with other departments within Vega in order to effectively facilitate the transfer of information. Reliable vehicle access is required for local area trainings.You take customer service and sales seriously, but have fun at work with the Vega team! Location
This full-time position encompasses the Phoenix Metro Area in Arizona with occasional overnight travel.Key Responsibilities
Store Calls and Management:- Create store routing:
- Establish weekly store visits
- Coordinate with Inside Sales Representatives (ISR) to place monthly calls to any accounts being visited less than once per month
- Develop relationships with Department Manager, Buyer, Demo Coordinator, Store Leadership
- Familiarize yourself with the nutrition department/team, the store/team, the other departments, the store calendar, etc.
- Identify educational opportunities, conduct floor trainings when possible and appropriate, and make appointments with Department Managers for follow-up training
- Set up sit-down staff trainings at all stores
- Place orders for stores when possible
- Manage customer expectations regarding shipping lead times
- Communicate National and Regional promo plans to store level Buyers and Managers
- Develop merchandising strategies with stores based on National and Regional promo plans
- Create promo calendars with stores that do not have National or Regional promo plans
- Schedule endcap or off-shelf placement with stores in support of promotions and create suggested orders
- Manage account advertising budgets, promotional plans, and merchandising plans
- Ensure Vega products are 100% in stock at store level
- Secure prominent, eye-level shelf placement in each product category at store level
- Identify cross-merchandising opportunities throughout the store and work with buyers, department managers, and store leadership to implement placement throughout the store
- Talk with end consumers at store level to educate and assist stores in selling Vega products
- Place point-of-sale (POS) materials at stores
- Utilize your trade spend to maximize your sales growth priorities and objectives
- Analyze trade spend reports to ensure efficient and effective use of trade spend dollars to maximize sales growth
- Recruit new Demo Representatives as needs arise in conjunction with the Demo Coordinator
- Schedule demos at top stores based on demand and support needs
- Analyze demo reports from the Demo Representatives to ensure effective product demos. Ensure demos being done at the right stores, on the right days, at the right time of day
- Perform demos and in-store consumer samplings yourself on a regular (weekly) basis
- Work with Accounts Receivable to resolve persistent late payments from problem stores
- Inform all departments of large promotions to reduce chance of out of stocks and work load backlog
- Ensure customer files are accurate and inform the Customer Experience Representative (CER) of any changes
- Contact the CER regarding specific shipping requests or questions
- Create reports outlining sales promotion recaps and store performances
- Analyze reports to identify areas of opportunity and threats
- Advise Marketing Department of opportunities for promotions and threats from competition
- Work trade shows and special events
Skills and Qualifications
- University or College Degree in Business or Marketing
- 3-5 years of previous experience in field sales
- Exceptional Microsoft Office knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Comfort and skill in problem solving and resolving customer issues
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Previous CRM use an asset
