The Opportunity
Headquartered just outside of Vancouver, Canada, with an office in Dublin, Ireland, Beijing, China, and now New York City, USA, FINCAD has been providing software to the financial industry for more than 20 years and is the leading provider of financial analytics technology, enabling global market participants to make informed hedging and investment decisions. FINCAD’s solutions support the valuation, reporting and risk management of derivatives and fixed income portfolios.

We are currently looking for a Product Marketing Manager who will understand FINCAD’s various market segments, conceptualize value propositions for each segment, communicate FINCAD’s value clearly and persuasively, and help identify opportunities within the pipeline. This position can be based in Vancouver, Dublin, or New York. FINCAD is committed to supporting ambitious professionals who want to co-invest in developing themselves to their full potential.

About You
I have at least 3 years of experience working with financial service firms, and ideally, I have a background in sales & trading, asset management, and risk disciplines. I am extremely comfortable conversing about finance and technology with senior executives, actively engaging in ad-hoc discussions with internal and external staff about their needs, and reaching out to prospects/customers for market intelligence and insight.  Besides being a power user in programs like Excel, I can look “under the hood” of a software program and understand its mechanics. I thrive in a high tech environment and the idea of combining finance and software intrigues me. I am looking for a role that allows me to directly contribute to the success of the company. What We Will Ask of You
Reporting to the VP of Marketing, the Product Marketing Manager will be an ambassador to FINCAD and will present our company and software to technical and non-technical audiences. This position requires close engagement with sales, product management, marketing, professional services, customers, and analyst firms and will required the person to gain a strong understanding of customer/market trends and behavior, FINCAD’s value proposition and key messages. This will be critical to developing effective marketing collateral, web content, sales tools, etc to help drive pipeline and and qualify high value leads for sales.
Specifically, you will be expected to:
Industry Expertise
  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert, representing the voice of the customer (organizations and business units with significant derivatives activity, both buy-side and sell-side).
  • Act as FINCAD industry expert with deep knowledge of key market segments and understanding of key issues faced by FINCAD customers.
  • Develop a solid understanding of FINCAD’s products, value proposition and competitive landscape, in the market of financial analytics software.
  • Learn from interactions with R&D, Product Development, Professional Services, Marketing and Sales, as well as from direct contact with prospective and existing customers.
  • Gather market insights from work with analysts, clients and share internally with key stakeholders (sales, product management etc.).
  • Identify themes/trends and work with product management to translate these requirements into compelling, clearly differentiated products.
  • Help define and clearly communicate our clearly differentiated value proposition and evangelize our message with media, analysts, customers etc.
Content Creation
  • Conduct market research to define unique selling points and competitive advantages.
  • Help shape the messaging strategy by contributing product and market expertise.
  • Identify venues and formats to communicate the FINCAD value proposition.
  • Identify useful sales tool/collateral requirements and help write or produce content for brochures, battlecards, position papers, blogs, videos, webinars, etc.
Lead Generation & Qualification
  • Use strong industry experience to collaborate with Sales to help support and win key customer opportunities.
  • Work with sales to test key messages through sales scripts and refine on regular basis.
  • Help develop the pipeline through various communication channels including email and phone.
  • Capture product feedback from customers and work with Product Management to drive these requirements into roadmap.
  • Qualify inbound leads following a target profile scheme and make a structured recommendation on which leads to pursue; gather feedback on marketing processes and profiling
  • Undertake research to identify and qualify prospects, uncover decision makers and identify their business needs.
  • Lead product launch/roll out.
  • Help organize events like customer advisory board, identify case study/reference opportunities.
What You’ll Need
  • 3+ years of experience working in financial services is required, buy-side risk experience is preferred.
  • Experience in B2B marketing, sales and / or high-tech is an asset with a strong preference towards experience in Fintech.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, marketing or finance – an advanced degree is an asset.
  • Very strong conceptual and communication skills – you should be able to research technical and marketing resources and be able to draw conclusions and present your ideas clearly and convincingly in both written and verbal form to a range of audiences.
  • Understanding of business contexts and ability to evaluate business pain points.
  • Strong acumen to be the ambassador of FINCAD’s expertise and offerings – this includes the ability to understand client situation and challenges and shape the right answer to drive interest.
  • Very strong verbal communication skills – an ability to interact in a polished and professional manner is essential.
  • Outgoing, positive style, combined with a sense of urgency to seize growth opportunities.
  • Digital savvy with a passion for innovation.
  • The confidence to represent the company at high levels across the customer/prospect base.
  • Able to work independently with limited direction and guidance.
  • Operate with the highest level of personal and professional integrity.
  • Team player with strong ability to collaborate across functional areas.
