Responsible for developing new business and maintaining sources of business for lease and term financing in the Western Canadian Manufacturing and food and beverage industries. The ideal candidate can be based out of Alberta or British Columbia.
Responsible for growing GE Capital’s market share in the Manufacturing / Food and Bev industries by deepening our relationship with existing customers and creating new relationships with prospects; sourcing new business through 3rd party network such as advisory and equity firms; generating quality profitable business; improving conversion rates and increasing the market coverage.
• Understand GE Capital’s value proposition by manufacturing segments and customer profile. With that knowledge, work with GE’s marketing team to build a targeted awareness campaign.
• Manage the existing portfolio, ensuring customer service expectations are met and assisting the risk team with any distressed accounts.
• Have the financial acumen to be able to read and analyze financial statements and structure a value added deal for the client within reasonable risk tolerances at an appropriate return.
• Work collaboratively with credit, capital Market and legal teams through the various stages of each transaction.
Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5+ years’ experience in the financial services or investment management industry
• Broad knowledge and network in the Manufacturing and or Food and Bev industry
• Established network within the advisory firms (majors to mid-tier) community and major equity firms covering the market
• Superior client relationship and negotiation skills
• Ability to interface with C-level decisions makers for large SME to investment grade company profiles
• Solid experience in business development and financial analysis is essential
• Must be willing to invest time with key industry trade associations
• Must be ready to travel across the province
• Strong team player and eager to learn
• Must be able to set goals, execute plans, achieve results, and perform in a sales environment
• Key metrics for success will be: coverage of customers, prospects conversion, new business volume, profitability and growth
MBA, C.A. or CFA designation is an asset
• Knowledge and network in the following industries: Food, Beverage & Agriculture and General Manufacturing (Western Canada)
• Knowledge of leasing (accounting and tax treatment)
• Exposure to complex transactions and documentation
• Creative thinking and imagination to explore and deliver unique financing solutions to our customers
