The Environment

You can be part of the IBM Canada’s Application Innovation Services team! This group is a global leader in providing clients with multiple application development and system integration related services and support capabilities.

As an Websphere Portal Developer, experience & skills in the following areas is required:

- Solid experience with development and testing of Websphere Portal application modules, this includes experience with Java, J2EE, JSR-168, JSR-268, WSRP.
- Solid experience using an Eclipse based IDE.
- Solid communication abilities, both written and oral.
- Understanding of user interface coding and associated technologies, such as HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, DOJO and JQuery.
- Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes and associated tooling. For example, the Rational tool suite.
- Understanding of Websphere Portal theme development.
- Ability to assess and optimize code for efficient performance.
- Nice to have: Understanding of IBM Web Experience Factory.
- Nice to have: Understanding of IBM Web Content Manager.
- Good understanding of design patterns and development frameworks.
Required
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 2 years experience in Development and testing of WebSphere Portal application modules like Java, J2EE, JSR-168, JSR-268, WSRP
  • At least 1 year experience in Eclipse based IDE
  • At least 1 year experience in Understanding of user interface coding and associated technologies, such as HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, DOJO and JQuery
  • At least 1 year experience in Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes and associated tooling such as Rational tool suite
  • At least 1 year experience in Understanding of WebSphere Portal theme development
  • At least 1 year experience in Ability to assess and optimize code for efficient performance
  • Basic knowledge in Understanding of IBM Web Experience Factory
  • Basic knowledge in Understanding of IBM Web Content Manager
  • At least 1 year experience in Understanding of design patterns and development frameworks
  • English: Fluent
Preferred
  • Master's Degree
  • At least 3 years experience in Development and testing of WebSphere Portal application modules like Java, J2EE, JSR-168, JSR-268, WSRP
  • At least 2 years experience in Eclipse based IDE
  • At least 2 years experience in Understanding of user interface coding and associated technologies, such as HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, DOJO and JQuery
  • At least 2 years experience in Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes and associated tooling such as Rational tool suite
  • At least 2 years experience in Understanding of WebSphere Portal theme development
  • At least 2 years experience in Ability to assess and optimize code for efficient performance
  • At least 6 months experience in Understanding of IBM Web Experience Factory
  • At least 6 months experience in Understanding of IBM Web Content Manager
  • At least 2 years experience in Understanding of design patterns and development frameworks
