This is a key commercial role managing strategic manufacturer relationships and originating new relationships within a variety of CDF Canada’s core industries’ with specific focus on Energy, Mining, Oil and Gas.
• Developing new business relationships to meet ongoing growth objectives, completing quarterly strategic account reviews with assigned accounts and managing high level service delivery for these relationships.

• Setting and executing strategy to source and close new deals and renew/extent existing relationships to achieve volume, CV and return on investment (ROI) goals with the targeted accounts.

• Identifying, proposing and structuring creative financial solutions for customers by working in collaboration with the functional deal teams including Credit, Operations, Legal and Finance.

• Participating in underwriting and closing processes to ensure that customer needs are met and are consistent with CDF’s risk and operational policies.

• Working closely with USA based commercial teams in situations where there are shared North American customers to ensure a consistent level of service delivery. Attendance at customer tradeshows and marketing events is required.

• Working across a variety of stakeholders at the customer (c-level, field sales, finance) to strengthen business relationships and build customer loyalty.
• Post-secondary degree in Finance or Business Administration preferred; or equivalent professional experience

• 5-10 years of origination experience in a financial services environment.

• Ability to evaluate customer needs, recognize market trends and be able to tailor financial solutions to meet customers’ needs. Experience structuring and negotiating multi year transactions. Have a good understanding of how to balance commercial objectives with risk factors.

• Strong communication skills in complex business environments with multiple internal and external stakeholders

• External focus with the ability to build and maintain key customer relationships, while focusing on driving growth within the business
• Proficient in financial analysis, including client risk assessment & mitigation, as well as structuring products that meet GE’s required internal profitability metrics
• Ability to work within a team-selling environment to achieve team goals and targets
• Demonstrated and proven negotiating, influencing and problem solving skills
• Excellent presentation skills
• Bilingualism (French/English) would be an asset
