- Assembling and testing mechanical units to make subassemblies or completed units.
- Customarily involves the use of hand tools, power tools and high pressure test equipment.
- Fitting aligning, calibrating, adjusting and installing parts, mechanisms and Hydril components to meet tolerance and product operating requirements.
- Repair units and products while have failed to meet requirements.
- Must be proficient and versatile in the assembly and testing of at least five of the following items: Kellyguards, PD's, KPD's, Annular body, Ram BOP body, Diverter, Flow Selector, Controls System parts, Manifolds, Wiring harness, Electrical Boards, Soldering, EH Sections, Solenoids, ERA Valve or Subsea NAV or demonstrated technical expertise in one or more of these areas.
- Performs assembly tasks in accordance with Assembly Test procedures which may require a knowledge of technique, tools, products and equipment.
- Identify and describe process problems through the use of corrective action sheets.
- Complete required documentation or paperwork with accurate information such as routers, time tickets and inspection reports.
- Must be IPC-A-610D and IPC/WHMA-A-620 trained and certified.
- Must follow Hydril Assembly Test Procedures.
- May work from verbal instructions.
- Uses good inspection techniques, methods and tools for inspecting his/her or fellow employees work.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in his work area.
- Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 30 pounds.
- Must be able to push heavier weights with the use of a jib crane.
- Must be able to climb on worktables of machine tools and large Hydril products.
- Must have a High School Diploma , G.E.D or at least five years of machine background.
- Valid Driver's licence.
- Be willing to work field service on and off shore.
- Forklift experience.
- Overhead crane and rigging knowledge/proficiency
