The following student position is a part of IBM Canada's EPIC (Employment Pathways to Interns & Co-ops) Student Program. This position is only open to students registered in a Canadian University or College program, who have completed a minimum of 2 years of their degree or diploma program, and who MUST be returning to full-time study upon the completion of the temporary IBM work term.

  • This Student Position resides in Markham and is a 16 MONTH work term

    JOB TITLE: Performance Analyst

    Main Responsibilities include:

    • Measuring the various aspects of performance for the WebSphere family of products and when bottlenecks are found to dig into the source and propose solutions.
    • Creating, running and monitoring performance tests and analyzing results.
    • Working with complex system configurations and automation, investigate and handle environmental and/or code issues,
    • Developing tools to improve problem determination and performance data collection and analysis.

    Qualification:

    • Knowledge of software development process, interest in software quality, good analytical and troubleshooting skills,
    • Thorough knowledge of Java as well as JRE and garbage collection,
    • Experience with Perl, Python and Bash,
    • Experience with Windows, Linux, Unix operating systems,
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
    • Strong ability to work within a team,
    • Coop or internship program enrollment an asset
