HR Services is a new team in EY Global Services that provides world class HR services to EY's global Talent (HR) organization.

 
To achieve its ambitions and goals under our EY Vision 2020 global strategy, HR Services will be driving transformational changes and to support this, an HR Projects team has been established. The Projects team is looking for high performing HR Transformation Management Consultants who have achieved excellence and strong reputations in their specialist field including HR Performance Improvement, HR Technology, HR Processes and HR Service Delivery Models.

As a Manager/Senior Manager (Assistant/Associate Director), you will be responsible for engaging with internal clients to advise and shape projects to meet their needs, and then to lead a team to deliver those projects to exceptional client standards. From time to time there will be some international travel required but this will not be substantial. This is a unique opportunity for high performing management consultants to be involved in a global HR transformation team and to develop new experiences by applying your HR consulting skills to an "in house" environment.

This is a permanent / full-time opportunity.

 
Purpose of the Job:
  • Engage with clients to understand the business needs; advise, scope and shape projects
  • Support the client to develop the initial business case and benefits for a project/initiative and work with other delivery partners including IT Services, Procurement and Legal, Program Execution Services and the HR Projects Portfolio Manager to mobilize a project.
  • Manage the delivery of large complex global projects, leading teams across geographies to achieve the project objectives.
  • Lead meetings and workshops for projects, or elements of them.
  • Create and deliver clear, concise, high-quality work products and act as an HR subject matter resource on one or more projects.
  • Manage stakeholders to ensure they are engaged, informed and consulted as appropriate throughout the lifecycle of the project lifecycle.
  • Engage and advise the client throughout the project lifecycle and maintain the highest standards of client service throughout.
  • Contribute to the development of the HR Services team by counseling and coaching other team members, contributing to the development of HR project methodologies and tools, actively knowledge sharing across the team and acting as a visible role model.
  • Deliver value to the project by demonstrating an understanding of the integration of process, service delivery model, data and technology; articulate project impacts to existing solutions and/or efforts to stakeholders.
  • Actively manage project risks and issues and recommend solutions to effectively overcome these.
  • Manage project budget and ensure timely and accurate reporting to the Portfolio Manager.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships across HR Services, BESS, our clients and our delivery partners.
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and deliver insightful and practical solutions - complexity on our projects arises from the global scale, the requirement to integrate across process and technology and move from local to global approaches and standardization.
  • Ability to influence and achieve stakeholder buy in - there is further complexity in working across our matrix organization, engaging and managing stakeholders, balancing local needs with global consistency, achieving consensus and decisions so the project can progress.
  • Ability to analyze client and business requirements, develop compelling business cases and translate the business needs into clear project objectives and outcomes.
  • Ability to motivate and manage a team spread across multiple geographies especially as we increase our 'virtual' ways of working.

  
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Experience of external client service and HR project delivery in a management consulting or 'Advisory' business.
  • Strong project management skills and knowledge gained on HR projects, including proven experience utilizing standard project methodologies, such as project initiation, current state analysis, future state design, implementation and project transition/close.
  • Strong track record of structuring and managing global complex projects or programs of work, exceeding client expectations whilst managing project risks or issues.
  • In addition to strong project management skills of HR projects, experience of delivering projects in any of the following areas:
    •   HR Process Improvement
    • HR Technology including the project management of technology deployment and associated changes to HR process and HR operating model
    • HR Service Delivery including the design and delivery of manager and employee self-serve, HR shared services
  • Proven ability to work on cross-functional project teams and translate complex business analysis into actionable recommendations through to implementation.
  • Highly organized self-starter with exceptional client service, strategic thinking, communication, analytical, and people management skills
  • Ability to work independently with little direction, including the ability to manage ambiguity and the political aspects of change.
  • Ability to establish and maintain credibility and excellent client relationships across many different functions and organization levels.
  • Experience of partnering with key stakeholders to communicate, influence and bring innovative solutions to challenging problems.
Supervision Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for leading teams and supervising the work of others, directing, coaching and ensuring overall quality in terms of the advice and deliverables to the client.
  • Responsible for coaching and developing other team members.
Other Requirements:

  • From time to time, international travel will be required.
  • Flexible approach to working on a global scale and across time zones.
Job Requirements:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent area of study)

Experience:
  • Experienced project manager with at least 5 to 10 years of proven HR related project experience.
  • Ideally currently working in either: Big 4, global management consultancy firm or blue chip organization - with an appropriate management consulting background.
  • Experience of delivering complex HR projects on a global scale.
Certification Requirements:
  • Appropriate project management or process improvement certification would be an advantage e.g. Prince 2; Lean; Six Sigma.
  • Likely to be a member of recognized HR institutions e.g. CIPD, SHRM and may have recognized HR certifications e.g. GPHR, CHRM.
