Mackenzie Investments is a leading
investment management firm providing investment advisory and related
services to retail and institutional clients.
The company has $63 billion in assets
under management, and as part of IGM (a subsidiary of the Power
Financial Group of Companies), is the largest independent asset manager
in Canada.
Mackenzie Investments is seeking an Associate Portfolio Manager as part of the company’s Asset Allocation and Alternatives Team (“AAA”). The AAA team is responsible for two lines of business: The first is a rapidly growing business, building and managing multi-asset, asset allocation and managed-solution portfolios. The second is a new initiative for Mackenzie, with the goal of building absolute returns portfolios based on active management, risk transfers and exposure to uncorrelated risk premiums. Team will develop top-down active strategies such as GTAA, and will also source alpha return streams from Mackenzie’s equity and fixed income investment teams.
We are presently looking to add disciplined, sophisticated and talented investors to our team to support this exciting and rapid growth phase. To this end, we are presently recruiting for an Associate Portfolio Manager to lead the portfolio construction and risk management efforts of the AAA portfolios, execute research and monitor portfolios.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
•Researching, designing and implementing world-class, powerful yet pragmatic portfolio construction methods
•Providing cutting-edge research to understand the true portfolio risks and exposures, and overseeing the risk of the Asset Allocation and Alternatives portfolios
•Supporting cutting-edge research initiatives to capture alpha by forecasting returns of stocks, bonds, currencies and commodities and related derivatives
•Understanding portfolios exposures and performance drivers
•Supporting the day-to-day portfolio management activities
•Building and prototyping portfolio tools and analytics
•Contributing to investment thought leadership and the design of innovative investment solutions to meet client’s needs
