| The Specialty Software Sales Rep is responsible for developing
Brand/product-specific solutions that address your client's business
needs (both industry and business) and deliver client value while
supporting brand-specific business strategies. You will work to create
solutions, which are tailored to client's business needs and integrate
the IBM/brand capabilities in a way that is valued by the customer and
superior to the competition. In this role, it is essential that you are
able to apply industry-specific knowledge and experience to bring new
business and technology insights to assigned clients. Further
Responsibilities include: • Sales of the IBM Information Management
software Big Data portfolio which includes PureData for Analytics
(formerly Netezza), PureData for Hadoop, PureData for Operational
Analytics, Data Explorer (formerly Vivisimo) and other solutions in the
Big Data portfolio to a variety of business units within organizations
in order to increase their competitive position, improve internal
efficiency and maximize business return on their IT investment. Success
will be measured on revenue attainment for the assigned territory. •
Developing the sales strategy and delivering key presentations and
proposals at all levels within customers. • Maintaining strong
relationships with executives and influencers in the IT and Line of
Business organizations in these accounts. • Thoroughly understanding the
client's business, including their organization, financials,
competitiveness in the market, and business issues. • Creating solutions
that are tailored to client’s business needs, and integrating the brand
capabilities in a way that is valued by the customer and superior to
the competition. • Promoting specific brand capabilities to develop a
winning solution which addresses the client's unique business needs. •
Accurate revenue forecasting and pipeline generation. Strongly Preferred
• Demonstrated experience working with customers in developing and
closing solution-oriented deals • Field experience in at least one major
industry • Knowledge of competitive offerings in the DW space such as
Teradata, Oracle Exadata, HP Vertica, EMC Greenplum and others •
Competent in engaging, negotiating, discussing, and presenting with
C-level Executives • Experience with a formal complex sales process and
solution selling • Strong prospecting, communication and leadership
skills Preferred • Knowledge of different architectural approaches to
warehousing including hardware and software elements is a plus • An
understanding of ETL and data integration methodology for consolidating
data into the data warehouse is a plus • An understanding of market
offerings around Data Mining, In-Line Analytics, dashboards/scorecards,
and Operational BI is a plus Required
