Based in Kitchener-Waterloo, ON

Senior and Intermediate positions available


Working with one of our product development teams, you will be focused on developing equipment automation software products used in high-technology manufacturing. PEER Group connectivity solutions provide fast and easy factory communications for semiconductor, solar, MEMs, LED and other high-technology manufacturing equipment. PEER Group test applications are used worldwide by equipment makers and factories for communications testing, SEMI standards compliance testing and factory specific operational scenario verification.

Scope of Duties: 

  • Use your design skills and your coding talent to sustain and enhance the functionality of our products.
  • Design, develop, code, and integrate applications using UML, C/C++, C#, Visual Studio, TFS.
  • Code for multiplatform applications – Windows, Unix (Solaris), Linux.
  • Learn about PEER Group’s connectivity tools and the Semiconductor automation standards.
  • Learn how to use testing tools like PEER Factory Acceptance Tester (PFAT™), CCS Envoy™, and SECSIM Pro® and analyze results.
  • Perform unit testing on code and participate in bug fixes.
  • Interact with your team, management, and customers, to resolve Tier 2 support issues.

To excel in this position, you need to possess:

  • Post-secondary education in a technical field (Engineering, Systems Design, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science) and/or work experience, ideally in the area of automation technology.
  • Intermediate (3-5 years) or Senior (>5 years) experience in a Software Development role using related technologies and design methodologies.
  • Solid knowledge of software design and demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Strong coding skills and experience in C#, C/C++ in Windows and Unix operating systems a must.
  • Special knowledge of automation or experience with semi-conductor standards an asset.
  • Keen problem solving and troubleshooting skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and teammates. face to face and remotely.
  • High commitment to success, ability to multitask within tight deadlines, and a professional demeanor are assumed.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within North America, Europe and Asia.

You’ve always been a quick learner and problem solving is your specialty. As a supplier, you want the tools you work on to integrate quickly into the factory's automated production environment and run reliably, processing material and delivering critical data to the factory control system.
