As a key member of the GE-Hitachi's Environment Health & Safety team, you will gain valuable, hands-on work experience through a diverse array of responsibilities that will provide you with wide exposure to the Nuclear Energy business.
Assist in developing, conducting, and coordinating EHS training

Conduct regulatory and housekeeping inspections

Updating EHS procedures and Safety Risk Assessments as required.

Assist in environmental, industrial hygiene, and daily radiological sampling and analysis.

Assist in the management of injuries and near misses at the site including investigating, completing pictograms, documenting, completing WSIB forms, and implementation of corrective actions, etc.

Co-coordinating and chairing various safety committee at the site - JHSC, Ergonomic, and ALARA committees. Activities include training, scheduling meetings and inspections, preparing monitoring and injury data for meetings, and ensuring employee concerns are addressed and corrective actions implemented.

Addressing employee concerns and shop floor facility issues in a timely manner

Ensuring Change Management procedures are followed with respect to facility changes ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.

Assist with the maintenance of the site’s environmental management system (ISO 14001).

Promote various safety and wellness initiatives at the plant.
Post-secondary education in a related field
Minimum 2 years EHS experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of all applicable EHS regulations
Hands-on problem solver
Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player with proven clear and succinct written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of MS Office software
Ergonomic assessment experience
Laboratory experience
ISO 14001 experience
