This position has the responsibility of managing the retail-side of our credit union, which includes:
- Managing Retail: Indirectly managing the operations of all branches of the credit union, including a deposit portfolio in excess of $190 million and lending portfolio of $140 million.
- Thinking Strategically: Contributing as a member of the executive management team in a multi-branch environment. As a member of the executive management team, the VP of Retail plays an integral role in the development of the strategic and operational plans; as well as implementation tactical plans to achieve goals as they relate to branch operations, and monitor performance in relation to plans.
- Leading People: The position has 5 direct reports: 3 Regional Branch Managers, 1 branch supervisor and an AVP or Commercial and Agricultural Services. The position manages performance results of employees by performance planning; establishing action plans and performance standards, assessing individual performance progress; ongoing coaching; providing recognition; providing and receiving feedback; conducting interim and annual performance reviews; calculating overall performance rating.
- Developing People: Ensuring your people develop the skill-set they need to be successful in their current and future roles – a large part of which is developing great credit adjudication, member service and people management skills.
- Managing the Member Experience. This position plays a key role in fostering and monitoring the effectiveness of the sales and service environment within our organization: building member relationships by ensuring a positive member experience every time they interact with our credit union from any service avenue.
- Making great credit decisions: As a member of the credit committee, to adjudicate large aggregate debt applications which are outside of your Branch Managers and Lending Staff limits. Provide coaching and feedback to Branch managers on the quality of credit proposal submissions.
- Building Relationships: Confident in the presence of others, you demonstrate an exceptional ability to negotiate and problem solve. With a natural skill for networking, you are most comfortable in a role that allows you to interact with people; building relationships is essential in this position, whether they already exist within the established portfolio or are yet to be discovered.
The successful candidate will bring the following education and experience to the position:
- minimum Grade 12 plus
- four years of formal education
- a minimum of six (6) years management and lending experience
- a commitment to continuous learning and development is essential

THE COMMUNITY:
We are open to a home branch location within one of our 10 branch communities, given available space. Plainsview Credit Union has branches in 10 communities: Arcola, Emerald Park, Glenavon, Indian Head, Kennedy, Kipling, Montmartre, Odessa, Qu’Appelle, and Vibank.
COMPENSATION:
The salary range will commensurate with qualifications and experience. A comprehensive credit union employee package is provided including group life, long-term disability, dental, extended health, vision care and a 6% matched pension.
