The technology world is witnessing a paradigm shift where there is an explosive growth in the amount of data that is being generated. The Advanced Storage Division in EMC is building an innovative technology that will define what the next generation of cloud computing solutions will look like, and enable the organizations to efficiently address rapidly expanding data requirements.
ViPR is the next generation software defined storage solution that layers cloud data types over traditional storage arrays. It transforms existing data into cloud data enabling new access patterns for modern applications. ViPR leverages and extends capabilities of the underlying storage devices to provide enterprise grade private cloud storage.
We are looking for talented Software Development Engineers to support this new product. This is a unique and rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor and help shape the technology and the product. Building a large scale reliable distributed storage system is quite exciting and requires sound understanding of fundamentals of Computer Science. You will be challenged on a daily basis if you enjoy solving hard technical problems and delivering solid code that has broad impact.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 2-5 years experience building software products
- Experience programming in Java
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to learn new systems quickly and independently
- Ability to work well with a team
- Experience building modern web applications (HTML, CSS and JavaScript)
- Experience building REST APIs (JAX-RS or other)
- Experience with a modern Web Framework
