Janssen Inc. is currently recruiting for a 4 month HTA and Submissions Associate Intern within the Government Affairs and Market Access (ACCESS) department. Start date is May 2014.
The ACCESS team is focused on two key responsibilities: working in close partnership with public and private payers to provide them with appropriate clinical data, pricing and partnership opportunities to support drug funding and patient access; and, data generation through clinical and health economic studies, to facilitate medication access through payers and adoption by prescribers.
Responsibilities
Undertake proactive, on-going environmental scanning, analysis, interpretation and reporting of trends in CDR, pCODR, and/or INESSS recommendations and/or policies;
Responsible for ensuring submission tools and processes are up to date or created as needed to streamline work and drive efficiencies, striving for submissions CoE;
Provide HTA analytics that support and help shape HTA policy positions for industry associations (Rx&D, BIOTEC) as well as within Janssen or J&J;
Populate and maintain PLA CoE database and conduct analytics of interest to support PLA strategies or as required by business;
Validate invoices and work with Finance to ensure best practices for Accruals and payments;
Develop internal tools and processes to facilitate analysis of CDR/pCODR/HTA activities, precedents, etc.
Ongoing monitoring of provincial generic drug pricing policies to provide an updated overview as required for Patriot;
Attend team, departmental and company-wide meetings.
Qualifications
Student in good standing, currently enrolled as a senior undergraduate or graduate student in a Science, MBA or Pharmacy program (background in health sciences is an asset);
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work tasks in a fast-paced environment;
Strong ability to research and analyze medical/scientific information;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, dynamic environment as well as ability to work independently;
Proficiency in technology applications including MS Office and Reference Manager as well as external databases (such as IMS Brogan) is an asset.
