Responsibilities:
As
a Tax Advisor, you will use your expertise and knowledge to provide
in-depth tax advice to Canadian users of TurboTax software.
Your excellent communication skills will help our customers to prepare their personal tax return.
Seasonal position from January to April 2014.
Work onsite in our Edmonton or Mississauga office or work remotely, flexible hours (preferably 30 to 40 hours per week).
No sales only advice!
- You will answer our TurboTax customer inquiries over the phone and chat (advice only).
- You will have to send an email summary with resolution for every call/chat you handle.
- You will guide the customer in TurboTax to make sure tax information is entered properly.
- You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You must be available to work extra hours if required.
- You can work remotely or onsite in our Mississauga, ON or Edmonton, AB office
Qualifications
Experience
preparing a variety (student, pension, self-employed, rental property,
investments, foreign income, etc.) of personal federal and provincial
tax returns with education in Tax, Accounting, Business, Finance, or
related fields.
Hands on experience preparing personal tax returns (minimum of 60 personal tax returns per year over the past 2 years). Strong knowledge of tax laws.

Experience with one or more specific provincial forms as follows:
- Quebec Provincial return (TP1)
- Ontario Provincial forms (ON428 et ON479), and AgriStability and AgriInvest form (T1163)
- Manitoba Provincial forms (MB428 et MB479), and Harmonized AgriStability and AgriInvest form (T1273)
- British Columbia Provincial forms (BC428 et BC479)
- Alberta Provincial form (AB428), and AgriStability and AgriInvest form (T1163)
- Maritimes (Newfoundland, New-Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island) Statement of Fishing Activities (T2121)
Bilingual (English/French) an asset.
Experience with one or more tax software and understanding NETFILE an asset.
Ability to provide solutions through research and knowledge of tax laws in a way that the customer can understand easily. Strong communication, both verbal and written.
Ability to research, analyze and determine an appropriate course of action in a variety of tax situations.
Independent worker.
