Responsibilities

Responsible to the Manager of Resident Services for the management of resident care. Responsible providing direct nursing care to residents and ensuring an environment which promotes the health and well being of the residents is maintained. Maintains confidentiality of information relating to residents and their families.

Employment Guide

A graduate from an accredited hospital or school of nursing. Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse. Medication Certificate is required. Prior experience in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term nursing. Ability to work within legislation pertinent to the operations of a health care facility including but not limited to, such Acts as Public Health, Mental Health, Resident’s Protection and Nursing Homes Act and other Federal, Provincial and Municipal Statutes which influence the operation of Nursing Services and resident care. A sound understanding and empathy for the needs of seniors and their families. Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and sound judgment.
