The Customer Business Analyst is responsible for providing tactical analytical support to the customer team under the direction of the Team Lead. The incumbent will access customer POS, internal metrics (i.e., shipments, innovation and supply chain) and syndicated business data to identify performance and/or trends for the assigned business.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide tactical analytical and diagnostic reporting support to the assigned Customer Team

Provide Pre-promotion analytics and recommendations to the account team.

Access and identify trends in syndicated business data and customer data, and identify gaps in market coverage and sales opportunities.

Build an understanding of Brand, category objectives and best practices.

Provide Category and Consumer trend analyses and recommend direction, which includes:

Customer Scorecards, New product performance analysis, Post promotional analysis and flyer tracking

Listing and distribution gaps analysis, Vulnerability of existing items

Development of fact-based tools/reports to assist in retail and brand execution, where required.

Complete special projects as assigned by Team Lead that may include the following:

Customer data analysis, Launch support, Team planning, discussion, and decision-making as appropriate

Participation in business process development, Participation in business plan development

Project analysis, Assist team members through the forecasting process

Qualifications


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Undergraduate degree is required, MBA an asset.

Minimum two years in similar role (preferably consumer packaged goods or dynamic fact-based industry).

Experience servicing key accounts and working with the Retail Link System is required.

Category management experience is an asset.

Strong understanding of key syndicated data (i.e., AC Nielsen, Market Track, WSP, Insight).

Advanced computer proficiency including web applications: MS Office, Macro development and other database applications (i.e., Access) is required.

COMPETENCIES:

High level of initiative and strong analytical skills.

Effective verbal and written communication skills in English, French an asset.

Demonstrated ability to establish good working relationships with business partners.

Ability to deal with multiple projects and priorities, in a dynamic, fast-paced and team-oriented environment.

Knowledge of statistics and research methods is beneficial.

Excellent presentation skills are required.
