Location: Toronto, Canada
The Email Marketing Specialist will be responsible for production of email communications, actioning email communication campaigns, performing A/B testing on emails, tracking and measuring the effectiveness of email communications, and monitoring subscriptions according to international spam regulations.
This person will also be responsible for using tools to create reports and provide recommendations on delivery and design best practices and keeping up to date on emerging trends in the field of email marketing.
Responsibilities:
Coordination, design and execution of multiple email campaigns
Create optimize email templates and manage the graphic and content changes involved with adapting email templates
Aid in the design and customization of content for email communications
Deploy and customize newsletters to consumers and agents
Implement and deploy triggered and transactional campaigns and integrate inbound marketing actions including creating and
integrating forms as well as processing list uploads
Track and measure the effectiveness of all email communications by creating and scheduling the delivery of reports to satisfy regional and global needs
Implement test plans for content, subject lines, and offers to evaluate and improve the results and relevancy of campaigns
Be the point person for all inquiries and issues generated from our customer email communications and campaigns
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communication, or Information Technology
1-3 years of relevant experience
Fluent with email marketing guidelines, email performance metrics, and project management fundamentals
Familiarity with email best practices, international spam legislation, and other rules and regulations related to global email marketing
Understanding of relational database technology, tools and CRM systems
Proficient in database marketing and campaign management applications
Knowledge of HTML coding including methods to integrate personalization and dynamic content into HTML messages. Also need a basic understanding of Syntax
Demonstrates thorough and systematic thought processes
Extremely organized with ability to handle a high workload in a fast-paced and challenging environment
Good communication skills with both technical and non-technical staff, with experience dealing with professionals from a variety of cultures
Previous experience in actioning email marketing campaigns including transactional email campaigns, triggered campaigns, and inbound marketing
Experience in implementing test plans for content, subject lines, and offers to evaluate and improve the results and relevancy of campaigns, and demonstrated experience in utilizing data, reports & analysis to improve campaign results
Previous background with ESP software such as YesMail, Lyris, SilverPop etc.
Experience with optimizing HTML coding for email rendering, personalization and dynamic content. Also need a basic understanding of Syntax
Knowledge and experience with creating email templates and managing the graphic and content changes involved with adapting email templates
Experience with web design and photo editing tools (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, etc.)
Experience with Eloqua a plus
Direct marketing experience a plus
Copywriting / editing experience a plus
