This
position is for a Websphere / Middleware administrator to support
Websphere Application Server, Websphere Process Server, and HTTP on the
z/os platform. The position is located at the IBM office in Markham and
at the customer site.
Web middleware support SA will:
Install or Uninstall Middleware software
Configure and administer Middleware software
Apply Middleware software patches, hot-fixes, and service packs
Communicate End-of-Support dates and new product release information to account team
Perform middleware system software level recovery
Respond to requests for information about Middleware software or operations from IBM account teams
Maintain Operational Procedures documentation for Middleware operations.
Perform startup and shutdown of middleware
Deploy customer application code/content changes
Perform application instance configuration Deployment or Removal
Create, implement, manage scripts
Perform Middleware problem determination and problem resolution
Perform root cause analysis of Middleware software outages
Manage problem tickets per Problem Management process
Coordinate problem resolution activities
Open help requests with Middleware software vendor support
Perform problem trend analysis to prevent problem recurrence and to improve service levels
Participate in change review and approval processes
Implement and test changes to Middleware software
Coordinate and communicate Middleware software change activities
Manage change tickets per Change Management Process
Analyze and improve change services levels
Audit problem and change records for process compliance
Create new Change Record
Conduct security compliance activities per contractual security requirements
Maintain Middleware software security compliance
Review & assess security vulnerability alerts
Perform Middleware software health checks
Document and report health check results
Document and report Middleware software security alert response
Manage access control lists for Middleware software
Manage SSL Certificates and Keys
Perform middleware product log file rotation, pruning, and archiving
Configure device security policies
Enable new functionality to devices
Define network routing rules, and ensure connectivity through firewall zones is established.
Work on Web middleware projects as assigned, including sizing, planning and implementation activities.

Required
- High School Diploma/GED
- At least 10 years experience in Websphere Application Server on z/OS
- At least 10 years experience in Websphere MQ on z/OS
- At least 7 years experience in Familiarity with Mainframe monitoring products and solutions
- English: Fluent
|
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology
