Job description
Job Description DBMS product support
DBMS product installation, maintenance and configuration
Perform database space management and monitoring.
Data Migration
High Availability Solutions
Log/Backup/Recovery
-Implement requirements for database backup and recovery requirements.
Performance and Tuning
Perform database re-orgs, statistics and other applicable utilities to ensure proper database function and performance.
Assist in database performance tuning.
Problem Determination
Perform problem determination and resolution.
Database Support
Prepare change requests to migrate new and/or changed database objects into production.
Create and maintain database structures.
Migrate and install new/changed database objects to the database environment.
Assist with migration and/or load of application data into the database environment.
Some overtime may be required.

Desired Experience MS-SQL DBA support on Windows OS of 2-4 years.
GSD331 / Isec Security knowledge
Support of MS SQL in a Clustered Server environment
HADR - High availability solutions
Mirroring
Replication

Technical Skills Skill and experience with MS-SQL Server v.7.0, 2000, 2005, 2008, 2008 R2,
MS SQL Server 2012 is a nice to have.
Installation, customization and performance tuning of SQL Server
Intel/Windows 2000
Deep understanding of database product security
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
ISM/Maximo
Lotus Notes

Non Technical Skills English speaking skills at conversational level
Written English skills must be excellent to above average
Good organizational skills
Oncall rotation
Teamwork
Problem solving abilities
Leadership skills
Ability to interface with Customer & Tech Supt Teams
Ability to create and modify Operating Procedures
Ability to create reports and spreadsheets
GSD331 Security knowledge
Will be expected to perform some out of hours work in order to support customer problems
Maintain logs and and daily outage reports
Required
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 2 years experience in DBMS product installation, maintenance and configuration
  • English: Fluent
Preferred
  • At least 4 years experience in DBMS product installation, maintenance and configuration
