Job description
The GPFS Software Specialist is responsible for lead identification, progression and ownership of opportunities uncovered in the assigned territory. This role requires a self-motivated seller, with a track record of closing software deals, with strong preference given to sellers with experience in files systems, storage, scalable NAS, data management, and technical computing (HPC), . The successful candidate must be able to develop territory plans and win plans. You are expected to manage a territory so that partners drive your small transactions, while you build relationships in your largest accounts, to support and build large deals.

Responsibilities & Accountability:
  • Develop strong relationships with D/C level IT executives, and with Line of Business leaders
  • Aggressive prospecting with top clients, consistently achieving at least 2 customer meetings per day or 10 client calls per week
  • Understand the client's business, including their organization, financials, competitiveness in the market, and business issues.
  • Understands government procurement processes, and how to take a deal from proposal to PO, within the time frame the seller commits to IBM
  • Create solutions which are tailored to client's business needs and that maximize cross sell across the IBM portfolio
  • Understands and navigate IBM to identify and acquire critical resources needed to develop the best solution for the client.
  • Thoroughly understands and apply IBM strategies and offerings for GPFS, IBM Platform computing and Technical computing
  • Ensure that the solution design and delivery team have considered the appropriate methods and models, to ensure a smooth install, and an exceptional customer experience.
  • Required
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • At least 5 years experience in Software Sales or Storage Sales
    • English: Fluent
