| IBM Cognos SPM provides incentive compensation (ICM) and sales
performance management (SPM) solutions for medium to large organizations
globally. Our solutions help organizations close the gap between
business strategy and sales performance. Our innovative solution
automates and accelerates all of the core SPM processes – incentive
compensation, territory management, quota planning, and roster
management. Our solutions are architected on leading edge Cloud/SaaS
architecture and are also available on-premise. Position Overview: The Software Performance Analyst is responsible for the end-to-end research, design, build and testing and of software optimization solutions and their sub-components. The candidate is expected to be well rounded, self-starting and capable of taking business objectives and turning them into legitimate solutions that solve real performance challenges. The candidate must have a strong knowledge of enterprise software design, SQL Server, hardware and performance optimization. A strong background in development and/or performance testing is preferred. The Software Performance Analyst will be a member of the Solution Performance team and will contribute to client performance escalations as well as performance projects and investigations. Tight collaboration is also expected between the Cloud Solutions, Support and Development teams. The candidate should be comfortable speaking with clients and internal stakeholders. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Analyze Cognos ICM system architecture, configuration and hardware. Provide recommendations for performance improvements • Develop extensive resources & tools to investigate performance issues within the performance lab, cloud and for on-premise customers • Develop and conduct design verification simulations and benchmark tests of components such as software, middleware and hardware. This will include web load testing, experience with tools such as JMeter & LoadRunner is an asset. • Author and contribute to technical documentation such as whitepapers and specifications. • Develop a strong understanding of how to build compensation plans, report and deliver on client requirements through the Cognos ICM/SPM product suite • Collaborate with Developers and QA Teams to optimize system performance • Work collaboratively with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure solutions are adopted and implemented so they can provide real value. • Stay current on the latest in technology and performance trends. Be an expert on solution performance and improve the knowledge of the individuals and teams who rely on you for advice. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience & Skills: • Strong experience with enterprise software implementations such as SPM/ICM, CRM, ERP, HCM, etc. • Experience with SQL Server 2008, 2012 and DB2 preferred • Knowledge SQL scripting and capable of authoring queries • Web load testing experience using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, etc. • Experience in database design, structure, optimization and configuration • Experience with .NET, ASP.NET, C# or VB.NET (1 years) • Strong data analysis and troubleshooting skills • Experience with Cognos Incentive Compensation Management solutions preferred • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assigned tasks • Analytical thinking, problem solving, detail oriented, good team player, working with minimum supervision, continuous learning Education: • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Information Management, Computer Science, or other related field is preferred for this position.
