Job Overview
IDRC's Supporting Inclusive Growth Program supports rigorous and policy-oriented research that generates new insights and options for promoting policies that facilitate inclusive growth. The program focuses on two thematic areas: the enhancement of enterprise development, entrepreneurship and innovation; and the facilitation of growth with decent jobs. Women's economic empowerment is a central focus within this program, including through the externally-funded initiative Growth and Economic Opportunities for Women. As a key member of the Supporting Inclusive Growth team, you will provide administrative, coordination, logistical and information management services to the thirteen-person team including the Program Leader, in a fast-paced, changing and demanding work environment.
In particular, you will be responsible for prioritizing and addressing multiple administrative and operational requests of varying complexity from both Ottawa and Regional Office team members to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the program.
Candidate Profile Education
One year college diploma in a relevant field (e.g. administration, business or secretarial studies)
Experience
This position requires a minimum of three years administrative and operational support experience, which includes:
  • running a manager's office, including managing incoming flow of work, prioritizing requests, and ensuring follow-up
  • managing high-volume of activities and requests, coordinating calendars, and booking meetings for multiple individuals;
  • initiating and implementing new administrative/operational procedures or processes to improve upon efficiency and effectiveness;
  • producing high quality documents and presentations (e.g. page layouts and graphics) using full suite of Microsoft Office and desk top publishing software;
  • developing, maintaining and managing various databases;
  • organizing logistics for meetings and workshops as well as taking and drafting meeting minutes;
  • coordinating and booking international travel;
  • preparing and reconciling travel expense claims for budget tracking purposes; and
  • updating and maintaining website content, mailing lists and filing systems.
Language
  • Bilingual (English/French) position at an intermediate level
