| The Services Centre, Nova Scotia occupies a unique position in the marketplace at the intersection of business and technology. The Services Centre will provide consulting services to leading edge clients who are looking for a unique, Canada -based capability to design, develop and support their mission-critical business applications. As a member of our team, you’ll help clients solve some of their most challenging business problems, capitalize on market opportunities and achieve real value in today’s tough economy. As an Entry Level IT Specialist/Business Consultant – you’ll work as a member of an engagement team, helping to design and develop applications to meet customer requirements. You’ll maintain, modify and update client applications for top Canada clients. You’ll provide expertise in the preparation and execution of test cases and be integral in the planning and executing of project plans—all leveraging the advanced methodologies, tools and procedures that only a global leader like IBM can provide. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop new custom applications to broaden your skills and grow your career in the IT and business community. What will the role offer you? -The opportunity to work with top IBM clients from around the world -The chance to live and work in Nova Scotia, Canada -Exceptional training and on-going learning and development opportunities -Multiple career growth opportunities, mobility and flexibility -A supportive work environment -Competitive salary and benefits Required Qualifications: Capabilities in ANY of the following Information Technologies: SAP, Oracle/ Peoplesoft, PJava, C++, C#, J2EE, .NET, XML, Web 2.0, Technology Spring, Hibernate, Javascript, Java Swing, Ruby on Rails, PHP, Filenet, Maximo, or Dojo Information Technology experience or demonstrated technical aptitude obtained either through relevant coursework or work-related activities Relevant business experience or Industry experience in the Telecommunications, Retail, Financial Services Sector – Banking and Insurance, Energy, Public Sector – Healthcare and Federal Ability to work in the Canada, without current/future need for IBM sponsorship Willingness to live in Nova Scotia (a low amount of travel anticipated) Preferred Qualifications: -2.8 minimum GPA, B average or better A -demonstrated history of achievement in academics, internships, and/or work experience -Ability to thrive in a team environment, making individual contributions to challenging projects -Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and to meet deadlines -Solid interpersonal, writing, and verbal communication skills -Demonstrated leadership abilities. -Programming experience or background in any language | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
