Account Technology Strategist

As the Account Technology Strategist (ATS), you will be the lead technology strategist on an account team for the Government of Manitoba and the Government of Saskatchewan, Manitoba eHealth and Saskatchewan eHealth and MB Liquor and Lotteries. You will provide pre-sales technical and architectural support for enterprise solutions. In this role, you will enjoy unique access and visibility to Microsoft’s senior executive team and Microsoft product organizations as you support and advocate the business and technical priorities of these key Provincial Governments and provincewide Health Authorities in the two provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba, in Western Canada. The ideal candidate will have the choice of living in either Winnipeg with a local Microsoft office, or working remote in Regina. The candidate should have a strong technology background that includes familiarity with the broad range of Microsoft products and solutions. In addition, the candidate should also have experience articulating the business value of Microsoft solutions and how these investments enable future business capability. The candidate must be able to build and maintain “trusted advisor” technical relationships with senior IT executives (CIO’s, CTO’s, VP’s) and key Enterprise Architects (Director Level and higher) in order to drive the adoption of Microsoft products and solutions. Key Responsibilities include: Work with Business and IT decision makers to understand customers’ business and IT strategies and initiatives. Demonstrate how to leverage new and existing investments in Microsoft products and services to create business value. Communicate the Microsoft technical vision and strategy for the customer, helping them realize the existing and future value of their investments in Microsoft solutions. Thus, knowledge of Devices and Cloud is important. Work with Account Executive and Solution Sales Specialists to understand customer vision and identify requirements; brokering interactions between the customer and the appropriate field specialist roles spanning across the Specialist Team Unit, Microsoft Consulting Services, Premier Services, & Dynamics, as well as corporate Product Business Groups and Industry Teams to meet strategic initiatives and revenue goals. Create, manage, and own solution, services and device sales opportunities and drive the deployment of Microsoft solutions. Drive deployment of Microsoft Windows, Office and cloud-based solutions in each account Advance existing Enterprise Agreements within the maturity curve in the EA Continuum model. Drive the successful adoption of the Infrastructure, Business Productivity, and Application Platform Optimization Models by your customers. Accurately forecast your business monthly. Achieve your quarterly attainment to quota targets. Become the Microsoft trusted advisor to the IT executive team and key enterprise architects. Requirements and skills for this position include: An absolute passion for driving business value via the adoption and implementation of Microsoft software solutions, services and devices. Ability to work with executive level management in enterprise customers to map IT to business initiatives and the ability to engage with a wide range of audiences from IT Directors to CIO/CEO level, City Managers and Elected officials such as Mayors and City Councillors. Strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to articulate the business value of the Microsoft platform and position Microsoft products and solutions in competitive scenarios. Deep understanding of business and technical drivers for deployment of technical solutions and familiarity with products, tools, and prescriptive guidance to enable successful adoption and deployment. Delivery of articulate, effective, and audience-appropriate presentations and demonstrations of Microsoft products/technologies, solutions, strategies, and initiatives. Articulate technical strategy & vision while demonstrating business value to the customer. Demonstrated effective leadership skills and strong self-confidence in customer meetings. Demonstrated team coordination and collaboration skills. Proven virtual teaming abilities. Proven strategic planning, risk analysis, and business justification experience. Qualifications: Applicants should have a strong technical background centered on Microsoft technologies with 8+ years of technical and industry related experience, as well as experience and exposure evaluating and managing implementation of key competitive technologies, such as Google, Open Source, Oracle, VMWare, and Cisco. Tablet and device sales experience is an asset. A track record of successful and substantive examples of leading technology strategy and deployments in a customer setting is important. A proven track record of successful solution sales and answering public tenders with public sector is desired. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and presentation skills, with equally good listening and qualification skills, and an ability to articulate the advantages of Microsoft solutions to senior business and technical decision makers as well as front-line technologists centered and mapped to their core business priorities. A BA/BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline is preferred. MCSE or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
