The final Assembly Test operator acts as a quality advocate by testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting components and final products in the manufacturing process.
* Works to ensure a safe work area is maintained through identification of potential risks and knowledge of all safety protocol pertinent to the area; promptly report any safety concerns to the appropriate party where applicable.
* Tests, inspects, and troubleshoots electromagnetic and electronic control panels, such as Mark 6, LCI, Wind, Solar, and Exciter.
* Utilizes crane and other material handling equipment to work with large material.
* Installs control panels into test cells by connecting test part to power source.
* Performs wire and hardware checks on control equipment and reports any defects in the Manufacturing Data Tool (or equivalent system)
* Performs Hipot, pressure corona or any other preliminary diagnostic tests as instructed
* Provides input and improvement suggestions to various stakeholders including engineering, quality, production, and shop floor associates.
* Generates test programs which may include the use of computer based test equipment.
* Performs work from test instructions, elementaries, diagrams, engineering drawings, and other written and verbal instructions
* Uses a wide variety of hand and power tools to repair and assemble new and existing test fixtures , equipment, and control panels
* Works with high and low voltage in many capacities
* Ensures that manufacturing tasks are performed in accordance with established quality standards (i.e. ISO)
* Instructs, directs, and advises lower rated personnel on various tasks including but not limited to repairs
* Performs other tasks as needed and requested
* Demonstrated knowledge of all area safety related protocol and ability to complete of required safety training, including but not exclusive to NFPA70e and LOTO training
* Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing and its application on the job
* Exhibited ability to utilize a safe, systematic, and thorough approach to troubleshoot when driving to the root cause of potential product and testing issues
* Exhibited ability to read, understand, and interpret job instructions, elementaries, diagrams, engineering drawings, and other written and verbal instructions
* 2 year technical degree with coursework in electronics or equivalent mastery
* Ability to utilize or become proficient in using various testing equipment, hand tools and controls pertinent to the testing role
* Demonstrated proficiency in the use of basic IT and software systems, including the aptitude to learn Toolbox and Control ST systems
* Elementary understanding of the manufacturing system as it relates to product being tested
* Ability and willingness to work with high voltage equipment
* Demonstrated sense of urgency toward fulfilling customer needs; has exceeded expectations to deliver customer valued results in a tight time frame in a testing, quality or production capacity
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while remaining adaptable and calm-mannered during periods of rapid change
* Possesses a keen understanding of testing area (or equivalent) challenges and has demonstrated initiative in identifying future issues and potential solutions
* Prior experience with controlled documentation/documentation change management
* Significant experience in testing/quality assurance or equivalent mastery
* Experience working with Toolbox and Control ST Systems
