The Field Support Spooler is responsible for pulling, installing and transporting electrical submersible pump (ESP) power cable within Department Of Transportation (DOT) regulations and troubleshooting ESP power cable.
• Gather tools and supplies to be used at worksite appropriate for job to be performed.
• Load and transport spooling cable to and from job sites; unload and position appropriately; install bands upon installation.
• Assist Field Service Technician and Rig Hands in the retrieval and installation of submersible equipment.
• May assist within the shop to prepare cable by searching and accurately marking breaks in cable.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on Company vehicle and spooling trailer and maintain required logs completely and accurately to comply with DOT regulatory requirements.
• Ensure periodic maintenance and repairs are made to Company vehicle.
• Maintain Company vehicle with necessary tools and equipment to perform service jobs.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain cable inventory and splice material inventory.
• Provide customer with written reports, complete necessary paperwork for invoicing, equipment identification and tracking, inventory control, payroll and expense monitoring.
• Maintain all required safety and professional certifications.
• Comply with all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the country in which the position is located.
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including Driver's Abstract, as part of the selection process.
• 1 year of relevant experience
• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
• Ability and willingness to work overtime
• Basic computer skills
• Good driving record with a valid driver’s license
• Willing and able to obtain a commercial driver license
• Self-motivated and team player
• Previous experience in the oil industry
• Electrical, electronic and/or welding background
