Position Description

The Institutional Securities Group Technology (ISGT) is looking for a talented software engineer to join the FICFX (Fixed Income Cash and FX Product Group) practice area. FICFX develops trading and risk technology solutions for Fixed Income Cash and Foreign Exchanges products.
This development position is a part of the Foreign Exchanges Options (FX Options) team that works on core services supporting a number of business aligned initiatives including trade pricing, trade booking, and other FX trade- centered applications.
In FX Options, we strive to adopt the latest cutting-edge technologies, both open-source and proprietary. These technologies include distributed resource management, access and entitlements management and distributed asynchronous messaging systems.
We face daily challenges with distributed caching, UI design, multi-threading and database performance to name a few. We develop using a standard project life cycle in an agile fashion while aligning our project portfolio to the overall strategy. The FX Options team is split across NY, MTL, LN, and Asia. We all support one set of applications, so cross-region collaboration is critical for every project.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate an eagerness to learn the existing platforms and be proactive in designing and building the next generation of systems to meet the business demands. The candidate will also be able to handle competing demands including both tactical and strategic initiatives, manage critical deadlines and work within a globally distributed team. The role will offer a good opportunity for those looking to make a difference to a major business division.

Skills Required

• 3 to 5 years of strong technical background including proficiency in OO design and in-depth knowledge of java with experience with web services, Spring Framework
• Studied towards a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering
• Experience with Linux development environment
• Good understanding of SQL and relational databases preferably Sybase and DB2
• Familiarity with BPM,
• Knowledge of Perforce or similar source-control system and JIRA or similar job-tracking system
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle
• Problem solving ability including ability to discuss and refine requirements with users, convert those requirements into a design and build a solution to meet that design
• Team player with strong communication skills

Skills Desired

• Candidates should possess sound general infrastructure knowledge e.g. know how all the pieces fit together.
• Silverlight (MVVM Patterns). Development of complex interactive UI using the MVVM design pattern.
• Windows Workflow Foundation (WWF)
• Directory Services programming, familiarity with creation, management of user/group/computer objects in Active Directory.
• MSSQL Administration, including replication mechanisms
• IIS Administration

Additional Job Requirements:
• Subject Matter Expert in Administration and Large Scale Deployment/Migration of Key Enterprise Applications (Office, Exchange) as well as in Configuring and Supporting Microsoft Outlook in Microsoft Exchange Environment
• Subject Matter Expert in developing software for Exchange Server using technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, Exchange Management Shell, Exchange Web Services, DB2, IBM MQ Series, JQuery, MVC 2, WCF, SOAP.
• Deeply Knowledgeable in Group Policies and AppSense for Configuration Management and Security
• Experience with Desktop Integration, Scripting, and Automation including PowerShell, Batch/Windows shell, Windows Installer, Install Shield.
