The successful candidate will assist the Finance Team in delivering service, leadership and support to the business. This position will be responsible for coordinating and administering a variety of finance-related activities.
Position Responsibilities:· We're looking for a talented individual who is craving a challenge to join our Finance Team in Calgary, reporting to the Area Finance Manager, and supporting the Western Canada Finance, Key Accounts and Sales Teams
· The Finance Co-op position will involve research, analysis, preparation of reports and recommendations and presentation of key findings, to the wider team, on a variety of Finance projects
· We will offer a detailed orientation and on-boarding plan to ensure that the successful candidate learns our business from "seed to store", and also how a billion dollar Canadian company looks at its key financial systems, and their link to company strategy
· Some examples of potential projects that you may become involved with include development of various forecasting tools, and analysis of trade spend. In addition, you will be preparing weekly and period reports on a variety of sales metrics
Qualifications:· Completion of the second or third year of a Business Degree, with a major in finance, accounting or related discipline
· High academic achievement, along with demonstrated ability to pursue other interests at the same time (you know that all work and no play leads to an unbalanced and unhealthy work ethic!)
· Demonstrated analytical skills, including preparation of Excel models
· Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to confidently interact with all levels in the organization, from front line to executive level
· A self-starter with a proven track record of building personal work plans that keep priorities on schedule, and on budget
· Demonstrated high level of competence with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
· Position will be located in Calgary, Alberta [Jan-Apr]
