Working with our customers in the Semiconductor tool manufacturing industry, in this role you will become an expert in development, testing, troubleshooting and setup for our customers’ tools deployed with PTO’s factory automation solution. This particular position will provide an opportunity for lots of trips to customer sites and fab sites in North America, Europe and Asia.
Scope of Duties:
- Use your skills in OOD and your coding talent to provide custom solutions for our clients.
- Design, develop, code, and integrate applications using UML, OOD, MS SQL Server, C#, C/C++, Visual Studio .NET.
- Create User Interface Designs with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) on .NET 4
- Perform unit testing on code and participate in bug fixes.
- Participate in installation and integration of software into the customer system.
- Understand and be able to configure PTO on the customer’s tool.
- Learn about and use PEER Group’s connectivity tools and the Semiconductor automation standards.
- Learn how to use testing tools like PFAT, CCSEnvoy and SECSIM Pro® and analyze results.
- Testing (burn-in and acceptance) and troubleshooting from the customer site and the fab.
- Interact with your team, management, customers, and factory personnel.
- Collaborate with the development team to resolve issues on site.
- Work flexible hours or overtime as needed.
- Frequent travel to customer sites within North America, Asia and Europe will be required.
To excel in this position, you need to possess:
- Post-secondary education in a technical field (Engineering, Systems Design, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science) and/or work experience, ideally in the area of automation technology.
- 1-2 years experience in a Software Development role using related technologies
- Solid knowledge of software design and demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- A mechanical aptitude as you will be integrating and testing PTO software on various types of mechanical hardware, including robots.
- Strong coding skills and experience in C# and C/C++ in a Windows operating system preferred, with special emphasis on concurrency and real-time control.
- Experience with both Unix and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with C#, C/C++, and/or Java.
- Special knowledge of automation or experience writing device drivers an asset.
- Keen problem solving and troubleshooting skills and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and teammates face to face and remotely.
- High commitment to success, ability to multitask within tight deadlines, and a professional demeanor are assumed.
- Willing and able to travel extensively within North America, Europe and Asia.
You have really solid coding skills and you've always been a quick learner. You have this amazing ability to figure out technology puzzles and get things to work. You pick up new knowledge and assimilate it into what you already know in a way that gives you an edge, and when you have a tricky problem in your head, it doesn’t leave you until it’s solved.
You are able to understand other people’s pain – analyze their production loss in terms of time or money so you can make suggestions about how to make the best progress at solving their problem. You will have the opportunity to become an expert at PTO (PEER Tool Orchestrator). You will grow and develop your knowledge of semiconductor standards and processes to become the go-to person when our customers are in difficulty.
